Oksana Zhnykrup

sculptor, porcelain artist · 1931–1993

She was a sculptor and porcelain artist whose favourite themes were Ukrainian folklore, female figures, lyrical subjects, couples in love, and the world of ballet and dance.

In 2017 a giant replica of her ballerina was installed outside Rockefeller Center in New York as “Seated Ballerina,” under the name of Jeff Koons, who had acquired the rights to use two of the artist’s works.
