Sofia Levytska
painter, graphic artist · 1880–1937
A Ukrainian émigré artist who worked in Paris, known for her painting and graphics in the styles of Cubism and Post-Impressionism. At nineteen she was married to a doctor who proved to be a morally degraded man, and unable to endure his abuse she returned to her parents’ home.
