Marfa Tymchenko

(1922 -2009)

The artist devoted her creative life to folk easel graphics, decorative and monumental painting, paintings on porcelain and wooden products, textiles. The artist was born in the homeland of Petrykiv painting – in the village of Petrykyvka in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where she took her first steps in painting. At the age of 16, she came to Kyiv to join the studies at the then Kyiv folk workshops. She worked at the Kyiv Ceramic Plant.
One of the largest and most important achievements of Marfa Tymchenko’s creative heritage was the decoration of the Kazka toy store on Velyka Vasylkivska Street in the city of Kyiv.
