Polina Raiko
naïve artist · 1947–2000
Polina Raiko was a Ukrainian naïve painter who began painting her own home at the age of 69. The house, with frescoes covering its walls, is now a museum.
In recent years it has been flooded as a result of the destruction of the Kakhovka Dam by Russian forces — a painful threat to one of Ukraine’s most singular works of folk art.
